NYSPHSAA tournament scores for wildcard berths
    The New York State Public High School Athletic Association introduced wildcard berths to its football tournament in 2019 to fill out certain quarterfinal brackets. Here is how they have fared:

2019 (Section 3 vs. Section 1 opponents)
    Class AA, Utica Proctor
      Lost to New Rochelle, 21-7
    Class A, Auburn
      Lost to Rye, 49-13
    Class D, Waterville
      Lost to Tuckahoe, 12-6

2020 (no tournament due to pandemic)

2021 (Section 1 vs. Sections 7 and 9)
    Class AA, Arlington
      Lost to Newburgh Free Academy, 35-34 (OT)
    Class A, Rye
      Def. Minisink Valley, 31-21

    Class D, Haldane

2022 (Section 5 vs. Section 2)
    Class AA, Pittsford
